It’s that time of year again folks!
It’s time for NaNoWriMo! If you’d like more information about NaNoWriMo, you can go to their website HERE.
The full name is National Novel Writing Month, and that month is November! The whole idea is to write 50,000 words over the month of November. To do that, you write 1667 words per day!
It sounds like a daunting task, but once you get going, it’s easy. The whole idea is to get you writing every day. I’ve been doing NaNoWriMo or trying to do it since 2011. Some of those times I’ve had medical issues that kept me from completing the task.
I’m looking forward to going full force into it this year. One thing you can do on the website is find other people in your local area that are taking part and sometimes they offer write-ins where several people from your area gather at a location and write. While I’ve never been to one of those, it could be something fun to do.
This NaNoWriMo I’ll be working on the book I’ve been working on forever (it seems). I know I’ve tried working on it the past two times, but those medical issues kept me from doing much. This time, however, I will finish up this novel’s first draft and maybe start the second book of the series.
I hope that starting the next one will give me momentum. After NaNoWriMo, I’ll go back work on the rewrites of the first book. I’ve been reading the book Story Engineering and I’ve been learning things I can’t wait to put into practice.
Anyway, enough of all that… Are you going to be doing NaNoWriMo this year?Talk about your project in the comments!
All the best with your NaNoWriMo plans, Jase!
Thanks Colleen!!
