What Am I Doing?

I hope you all are doing well today!  I’m writing to update you guys on what I’m doing and what I hope to be doing in the future.

If you’ve read this blog, then you know I lost my dad last month.  It’s been really tough to write anything since then.  I’ve written several blog posts.  Almost every one of those were something I needed personally and felt that God would have me share with you guys as well.

I’ve had a few people ask how my book writing is coming along and all I can say is, it’s not.  At least it hasn’t been.  While I was finishing Bryan’s Journey I couldn’t wait to start my next project.  I had some great ideas and huge plans.  When I finished Bryan’s Journey I took a little breather, and then I started the planning.  I decided that this next project will consist of three books.  I’ve roughly outlined all three books.

When I began writing I couldn’t get into it.  I didn’t understand because I LOVE this idea and I’m so excited about getting it onto “paper” but it wasn’t happening.  I pushed myself to write.  I kept writing blog posts, they were all I could get out.  So, a couple of days ago, I went through my outlines.  I made some changes to books two and three and I felt the excitement coming back.  I can’t tell you how good that felt.

I put so much pressure on myself. I plan on trying to go the traditional publishing route so I want this project to be my best work yet and I’m being overly critical of myself.  I’m comparing myself to other authors.  I stifled my creativity.  Now I’m trying to harness this newfound excitement and just get words down.  I can go back and pretty it up later.  I can use your prayers that God would use me in this project.

In other news.  My wife gave me a wonderful idea about writing a devotional.  I’ve been thinking about it and I may do that as well.  I’ll use some blog posts and I’ll also write some more inspirational things to put in there.  I’ll probably start on that soon.

The last thing I’m trying to get together is marketing.  It’s my least favorite thing.  I need everyone who has read my book(s) to go to Amazon and leave a review.  If you have some critiques I’d be glad to take those in my email jaserosenburg@gmail.com.

There you have the update.  Tomorrow starts a big push for the book.  I hope to finish up chapter 1 and maybe chapter 2!

If you haven’t read my books go the My Books page and you’ll see where you can get them.  God bless.
