There has been something I’ve been thinking about for a while now.  I’m always drawn back to it.  After seeing some headlines recently, I think it’s time we talk about it.

Most of us have seen the news, so you probably know about the Ashley Madison website and the leak of the user information.  A lot of people didn’t even know what the site was.  Now, I’m sure there are a LOT of people out there who have been caught.  Josh Duggar was one of them.  The reality TV star came out the next day and apologized to God and his family.  My next statement doesn’t just go for him, but everyone caught up in this whole mess.  I can’t help but wonder are they just sorry they got caught?

There is a BIG difference in being sorry and repenting.  We can all feel sorry for the things we have done, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to change.  According to Webster’s dictionary to Repent means  to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one’s life.

You have to give up the sinful ways.  Churches in America barely preach on sin anymore.  Preachers are too afraid to preach on sin.  Some of it is because they want to keep butts in the seats.  They want those dollars coming in.  Prosperity after all is the measure of how close you are to God, right?  Wrong!  I don’t care how prosperous you are, if you are actively living in sin, you WILL go to hell.  There are also some preachers who are afraid to preach the truth for fear of lawsuits.  Political correctness has left some preachers unable to speak.  They have been rendered dumb.  No backbones.  Afraid to do what God has called them to do.

I believe there is a shaking going on in America.  God is separating the wheat from the chaff.  Those who are willing to risk everything for the Cross and preach repentance are no doubt going to face hard times.  The Bible tells us that we will!  The Bible never promised us prosperity!  It did say we would be hated.  It did say that we would be persecuted.  The Cross will cost you something.  The ones who are unwilling to live according to God’s standard will fall away.  It’s sad.  God will not tolerate sin.  Don’t get me wrong, He LOVES us all.  He paid such a high price for you and for me.  However, it’s our choice to accept it.

We must, as a nation begin to repent.  If I could find a way to organize something on a national scale I would.  That’s how heavy this subject is on my heart.  We need a day set aside for us to pray for our nation and to repent.  We need preachers to stand tall and preach the truth, no matter what.  There is just ONE WAY.  That way is Jesus.  We have to return to the old paths.

Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.  Look at the news folks.  There are about 40 million accounts on one website that offers extramarital affairs.  Planned Parenthood is cutting up children to sell for parts.  Millions of babies have been aborted.  Our nation has turned its back on God and continues its slide into depravity.  Only one thing can happen.  Judgement.  Repent!  We are breaking his heart.  He doesn’t want to see anyone go to hell.  We as a church have let him down.  Repent!  We as the church need to repent!  We need to change.  We’re either going to be in or out.  Hot or cold.  There is no longer a place for lukewarm.  He has started to vomit those out of his mouth.  Church, repent. REPENT!
