My New Project!

Blog Covid-19 DNA family history Genealogy Life Podcast

With the quarantine going on, I was looking for something to help keep my busy. I thought about it for a little bit and then decided to take the leap into making a Podcast. So, in late April I downloaded Anchor (again) and started a podcast about genealogy.

When I first started I thought the podcast would just be about genealogy and me doing how to’s and giving information. After I started however, I had an idea. What if I use the podcast to tell the stories of people like me.

I put out a call on social media to ask people if they wanted to share their family history or DNA stories. I automatically had people contacting me. I know I love family history and DNA stories and I knew the people who would listen to my podcast would love it as well. And like I said, I had my own story to tell as well. You can find my story on the podcast below the blog post, along with many other podcast episodes.

After, I recorded a few of these episodes I decided to add in adoption stories as well, because many times those include DNA, and I love to hear the stories.

I’m excited about this project! I plan to continue it for as long as I can. I’m also trying to learn to use editing software so I can make it sound the best possible. Eventually, I would like to get the proper mic and equipment to record with. I have many things planned for the future. I plan to add a patreon feature for those who would like to help support the show, even though Anchor does provide a way to do that on my podcast page, I want it to be more personal, where those who support can get extra content.

I’ll keep the other plans a secret, but they do involve the blog as well! So please keep checking back here!

Now, if you’d like to give the podcast a listen, just click the episode below you’d like to listen to and sit back and relax. One thing you’ll notice is that I use the name Jason Hall on the podcast, listen to My DNA Story to find out why!
