In Times Like These

In Times Like These

I started singing this old hymn this evening. It seemed fitting. The lyrics say this:

In times like these you need a Savior,
In times like these you need an anchor;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

This Rock is Jesus, Yes He’s the One,
This Rock is Jesus, the only One;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock

In times like these you need the Bible,
In times like these, O be not idle;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!

I know it may not be cool or hip, but it’s what we need.  Our country has taken the road that has led us away from God.  We need to get back on the old path and return to our first love.  If we want to see change, we need to cry out to God for our nation, for our leaders, and for all people of all colors.

God does not change. He is forever the same. His love never changes. He does not tire or get weak. He isn’t surprised by the things that happen around us.  When Adam and Eve chose to go against what God had commanded and partake of the tree that they were told not to partake of, sin entered the world.  Since that day, God has given man free will to do what he wants.  We have a choice to do good or evil.

So, in times like these remember. Remember what this nation was founded on.  ALL men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights. Return to the old path that led to the cross. We need repentance in this nation. When we repent, we will see revival.  We’ll see men and women of all colors come together in love. It’s our choice. Continue to be divided by the media and what the world wants you to believe, or turn to God and cry out to him.  It’s your choice.

I’m crying out to God for my nation. Forgive us for turning away from you. Forgive us for our unbelief. Forgive us for the way we have treated one another. Bring us together in love. Bring us to our knees in repentance. Bring us REVIVAL!
