There are times in our life when we cry out to God and ask him why. We beg for answers. Sometimes it feels like we’ve been ripped apart at the seams and we’re lying on the ground in a million pieces. We search for answers that don’t seem to come. We’re broken.
The truth is God hears every cry. He hears us. He listens intently for us to speak to him. If you know anything about God, then you know he loves you. He loves you more than you can imagine. So you may ask, why would he allow me to be broken? Why won’t he help me? We question his love for us. Imagine that, we question the God who created the universe, who sent his ONLY son to die for us. We dare question his authority and his love.
What I’m about to say, may not sound helpful but stick with me. God understands. More than anyone else, he gets it. When you don’t have the answers and you don’t feel like you’re getting any, he still loves you. In his infinite power and wisdom, he understands the meaning of brokenness. While being broken is painful for us, its necessary. What? Why would God want me broken? Have you ever seen a mosaic? A mosaic is when a person takes all kinds of glass, stone or tile and breaks it into a bunch of tiny pieces. Then they take all of those pieces and make a beautiful piece of art from it.
I understand, when you’re hurting and the brokenness is on your doorstep, you don’t want to hear that. However, it doesn’t change the fact that God is making you into something beautiful. He needs you to be fit for his Kingdom and for that to happen there are things in our life that have to be removed. Imperfections mar us and make us unfit vessels to be used by The King. So you understand, brokenness is something we all go through. It’s a process. It may be painful but the final outcome is more beautiful than the original.
God deeply cares for you. He only has your best interest at heart. So cry out to him when it hurts. Cry out to him when you don’t understand. He stands ready at all times to listen for your voice. That gives me more hope than anything in the world. To KNOW that GOD himself listens and WANTS to hear me speak to him. Don’t give up. God is making you into a new creature. His love will never fail. When he puts you back together, you’ll be able to look back and see what God was doing. You’ll step back and see the beautiful mosaic he has made from your life.
